South African ministers freed after being held hostage: Officials

Three government ministers were freed after being “held hostage” during a meeting with anti-apartheid veterans, officials said. At least 56 people, including seven women, were arrested and would probably be charged with kidnapping after the confrontation in a hotel in the capital Pretoria on Thursday, a government security agency said. It wasn’t immediately clear how long the stand-off had lasted.
