India's gold imports jump to ₹58,572 crore in June quarter

India’s gold imports jumped multi-fold to $7.9 billion (around ₹58,572.99 crore) during the April-June period due to low base effect, according to data from the Commerce Ministry. Gold imports had fallen to $688 million (₹5,208.41 crore) during the same period last year. However, silver imports dipped by 93.7% to $39.4 million (around ₹293.24 crore) during the period.
