Pandya-led Gujarat Titans (GT) has registered 9 wins from 12 matches and was the first team to qualify for the playoffs. The IPL debutants have a strong chance of finishing in the top 2. Pandya, who is now playing as a specialist batsman, is likely to be part of the leadership group.
As for Dhawan, the senior batsman captained a second-string Team India in the white-ball series against Sri Lanka last year. The members of the Test team were in England and Dhawan was given the opportunity to make his captaincy debut. While he isn’t the captain of Punjab Kings, Dhawan is part of the leadership group and led them against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Mayank Agarwal missed that fixture due to an injury.
