A hairstylist to the stars has revealed an unusual yet simple trick that can be done everyday for just a few minutes to stimulate hair growth.

Helen Reavey, founder of the haircare brand Act+Acre, recommends rubbing your nails together daily to promote thicker and faster growing hair.

The trichologist says this simple hand motion stimulates the brain to send signals to adult stem cells to revive dormant and unproductive hair follicles.

She also shared that rubbing your fingernails together increases blood flow to the hair follicles for healthier hair growth. 

‘You think I’m crazy? Google it,’ Helen encouraged followers in her video. 

She revealed the hair trick in a TikTok video that has since received more than five million views and hundreds of comments from surprised users. 

‘I have been doing this for years and years, let me tell you that it works,’ a user wrote.

One follower was in relief when Helen revealed that the hack does still work even if you have acrylic nails on.
