A UNICEF official on Friday said that girls in Afghanistan are increasingly at risk of child marriage due to a crisis in the country. “We’ve received credible reports of families offering daughters as young as 20 days old up for future marriage in return for a dowry,” the official added. The Afghan crisis was triggered by the Taliban takeover.
