Floods in Assam & Meghalaya kill 16 people, 11 lakh affected

With the water rising to high levels in the Brahmaputra and Gauranga rivers, as per officials, the subsequent flooding has killed 16 people in Assam and Meghalaya. In 25 districts, 11 lakh people have been impacted as over 1,500 villages are submerged. With constant rains causing landslides, residents have been asked to stay inside their homes.
