BMC collects ₹66 lakh fine for spitting in public in last 10 months

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has collected ₹66.48 lakh in fines from 33,298 people for spitting in public places in the last 10 months. The civic body is currently imposing a fine of ₹200 on those who’re found spitting in public places. Separately, BMC has also collected around ₹71 crore in fines from people for not wearing masks in public.
