Baseless: Govt on reports saying India 'undercounted' COVID-19 death toll

The government has said that there have been media reports alleging a ‘significant undercount’ of the total number of COVID-19 deaths in India and called such reports “baseless and misleading”. The “fallacious” reports alleged that the toll crossed about three million in the first two waves, the government said, adding, “India has a very robust system of birth, death reporting.”
